STAFF REPORT

YOUNGSTOWN — Mayor Jay Williams and his wife, Sonja, will host the annual Mayor’s Community Celebration at Stambaugh Auditorium on Saturday.

The event starts at 6 p.m.

This black-tie party is in support of the Mayor’s Community Foundation, a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit corporation and a component fund of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley.

Proceeds from the ball will continue to provide funds for nonprofit organizations that serve underprivileged women, children and families living in Youngstown.

To date, the Mayor’s Community Foundation has granted more than $25,000 to organizations and grass-roots projects whose goal is to better our community and improve the quality of life for residents.

As a featured part of the evening, the mayor will deliver the State of the City address. He will also acknowledge those local charities that have benefited from the foundation this year.

This will be the fourth year for the event, originally established as the Mayor’s Inaugural Ball after Williams’ election to office.

Ticket and sponsorship information is available by calling the Stambaugh Auditorium box office at (330) 259-0555. Seating is limited and reservations are accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
