Fire damages West Side house

YOUNGSTOWN — The occupants made it out OK but a small dog perished in a house fire on Manchester Avenue on the West Side, the fire department said this morning. The fire at 1:20 a.m. Sunday appeared to have started in the basement rafters. The breakers had tripped so electric was shut off at the box. Damage was estimated at $9,000 to the property and contents.
