Senior Independence Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following activities: Monday, Men’s and Women’s Needlecraft Club from 8:30 a.m. to noon, and bridge at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, oil painting at 10, computer class at 10 and noon, cornhole practice at 1:15 p.m., and digital club at 2; Wednesday, watercolor class at 10 a.m., computer at 10 and noon, tai chi at noon and 500 cards at 1 p.m.; Thursday, the center will be closed New Year’s Day. Special events are: Tuesday, a Meadow’s Casino trip from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The center has applications for the SBC telephone discount program of $12.38 per month for eligible applicants.
