YOUNGSTOWN — The teams combined for 52 free throws on 38 fouls. There were also 39 turnovers in the contest. The Cardinals (4-4) took a 26-15 lead into the half and didn’t let up. Jillian Halfhill had a career night for the Cardinals. She finished with 27 points, three rebounds, three steals and four assists. Cally Wollet added nine points. The Panthers (4-3) were led by Reshayla Taylor (11 points, eight rebounds, two steals) and Monet Oliver (10 points, 12 rebounds, two steals and a block).
Struthers 71, Brookfield 46
BROOKFIELD — A strong second half propelled Struthers. The Wildcats (5-4) scored 45 points over the final 16 minutes. The defense had 12 steals and held Brookfield to single-digit points in two quarters. Offensively, Dana Mathews showed her skill with a game-high 23 points. Kathlyn Ardale also had double-digit points, finishing with 15. Brookfield (3-4) scored eight points in the first quarter and only nine in the third. Kodi Brenner led the team with 16 points, and teammate Paige Wallce had 11.
Girard 44, Hubbard 42
GIRARD — Emily Smerchansky hit a 3-pointer with less than a minute remaining to give Girard a 43-42 lead and Katelynne Brainard added a free throw to seal the victory. Brainard scored 15 points to lead Girard, which outscored the Eagles 16-12 in the fourth quarter. Smerchansky and Bryanna Jay each added 10 points for the Indians. For Hubbard, Brittany Bullock scored 12 points.

ROOTSTOWN — At the Rootstown Rover Holiday Tournament, Maggie Sell led the Golden Eagles (7-0) to their seventh-consecutive victory. Her 24 points, included two three-point goals and perfect 4-for-4 from the foul line, led the game. Behind her was Hillary Hoppel with 12. The Ravens (4-3) were led by Kayla Plaso and Danielle Boyce, who both scored in the double-digits. Plaso finshed with 12 and Boyce had 11. Lauren Flarida hit the only 3-point goal for the Ravens, who went 17-of-25 from the foul line.
Champion 63, Lakeview 44
CHAMPION — Erika Stevens scored 20 points to lead Champion (4-5), which made 23-for-40 from the field. Jessica Nicholas and Briana Lewis added 11 points apiece to reinforce Champion. MacKenzie Palette had 11 points and Kasey Watson 10 to spark Lakeview (3-6), which made 15-for-28 from the field.

WARREN — Aundrea Baldridge tallied 16 points and Kourtney Williams 15 to spark Harding (6-2). Anita Brown added 10 points for the Raiders. Gab Naples had 14 points and Mackenzie Pfeifer 10 to lead South Range (4-3).

RAVENNA — Mya Levels scored a game-high 13 points to lead Southeast, which held the Tigers to two points in overtime. Kelsey McGregor scored 10 points for Newton Falls.
West Branch 57, Louisville 44
BELOIT — The Warriors (3-2) made five 3-pointers and went 14-of-24 from the foul line. Katie Sellaroli led the team in scoring with 13. Behind her were Emilee Zets, who had 11 points, and Lacey Sanor and Michelle Sosnick each finished with eight. A game-high 18 points by Jessica Lairson weren’t enough for the Leopards (1-4). Teammate Erin Thornton joined Lairson in double-digit scoring with 14. The team went a combined 5-for-14 from the free throw line.
