YOUNGSTOWN — Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 1210 Himrod Ave., will bring in the New Year with a Covenant Service aqt 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Enneagram program

VILLA MARIA, Pa. —Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will present “Introduction to the Enneagram” from 6:30 p.m. Jan. 30 to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 31.

The Enneagram is a personality theory combining the insights of modern psychology with proven wisdom of ancient philosophies. According to the Enneagram, there are nine personality types distinguished by a basic motivation, and producing a pattern of perception, thinking, feeling, and behavior that we call personality. Each participant is led to discover her/his type and investigate some of the implications for building better relationships. Insights gained from the Enneagram can assist in the process of spiritual growth and personal transformation.

Leader will be Sister Cheryl Rose, who is engaged in full-time ministry offering retreats, programs, Enneagram workshops, and spiritual direction for adults and young adults. The cost is $135 per person for the session that includes meals, overnight accommodations and course materials. A commuter rate of $95 is available. Registration is required. Winter Bible school

HUBBARD — Coalburg United Methodist Church, 1906 Wick Campbell Road, will sponsor a winter vacation Bible school from 9:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday and Wednesdayat the church. Activities will be games, Bible stories, crafts and snacks. For a mission project, children are asked to donate a canned good.

New Year’s Eve service

STRUTHERS — Pilgrim Baptist Church, 67 McClure St., will hold its annual New Year’s Eve service at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Lee T. Rucker Jr. is host pastor.

Lessons and carols

HERMITAGE, Pa. — St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 159 Todd Ave., will hold a service of lessons and carols at 11 a.m. Sunday. The Christmas story will be told, accompanied by favorite carols and some newer music. The tradition of the lessons and carols service goes back to Truro Cathedral in England during the late 19th. Refreshments will precede the service at 10:30.

St. Paul retreat

VILLA MARIA, Pa. —Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will sponsor a Year of St. Paul retreat on Jan. 25 to celebrate the Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul. The retreat will focus on the revelations of St. Paul the Apostle.

Presenter will be Dr. William G. Blatz, secretary for social concerns for the Diocese of Pittsburgh. He is also known in the Diocese of Pittsburgh for his presentations at St. Paul’s Retreat House.

The retreat will begin with Mass at 9:30 am in Magnificat Chapel and the retreat will continue from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the conference center. Special service

YOUNGSTOWN — Shenango Valley Baptist Association will hold a New Year’s Eve service at 10 p.m. Wednesday at Beulah Baptist Church, 570 Sherwood Ave., where the Rev. Harold Logan is pastor. “We’ve Come this Far by Faith” is the theme. Speaker will be the Rev. Sylvia Jennings, pastor of Oak Baptist Church.

Christmas musical

BOARDMAN — Destiny International Ministries, 6412 Market St., with apostle Wayman and Pastor Evelyn Thomas will present a Christmas musical at 11 a.m. Sunday. An evangelism service is planned at 7 p.m. Tuesday. A New Year’s Eve celebration will be at 9 p.m. Wednesday.
