Local woman releases CD of sacred Christmas music

Colleen McNally-Harris of Boardman has released her second CD, “Christmas Tapestry,” a collection of sacred Christmas music from the Middle Ages to present day.

Harris made the CD with a number of local musicians. Daniel Laginya, William Ambert and Sharyn McNally-Chrystal provided vocals. The traditional Irish “Wexford Carol” is sung a capella, while harpist Kirk Kupensky accompanies Harris on the Welsh tune “Suo Gan”, Craig Suhar is featured on acoustic guitar on “Coventry Carol” and “What Child is This.”

A seventh-century Celtic prayer is set to music in “Prayer to the Child Jesus” by Alfred Fedak.

The CD was recorded at Tune Town Studios in Newton Falls by sound engineer Mike Talanca and features original arrangements by Dennis Augusta.

“Christmas Tapestry” and Harris’ previously released “Celtic Grace” are available at The House of Erin, 5136 Southern Blvd., Boardman (330) 788-8080); and online at colleenharrismusic.com.

Harris will perform at 9 p.m. New Year’s Eve at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Canfield as part of First Night Canfield.
