ACTORS

“Intimate Apparel.” Weathervane Playhouse, 1301 Weathervane Lane, Akron. Open call auditions are 7 p.m. Jan. 5. Those auditioning may prepare any monologue up to two minutes long. Scripts and audition scenes available at the playhouse. Performances will be Feb. 26-March 14. (330) 836-2626.

MUSICIANS

Stambaugh Youth Concert Band. Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. Auditions will be held in January and is open to students in the ninth through 12th grades. Call for information. (330) 747-5175.

Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra. Auditions are ongoing for section strings (violin, viola, cello), substitute brass and percussion for the 2008-09 season. Rehearsals are 7:30-10 Thursdays at the Tri-C’s Metropolitan Campus Auditorium in downtown Cleveland. Audition requirements are one solo piece and one orchestral excerpt of your choice.
