VOTING CHANGE | Precinct mergers


The county is in the process of having a consolidation of voting precincts approved. The change will affect only New Castle and Ellwood City. Here is a breakdown of the consolidation proposal:

New Castle, now, 42, after consolidation, 18:

1st Ward: From four precincts to two.

2nd Ward: From 10 to five.

3rd Ward: From six to two.

4th Ward: From eight to three.

5th Ward: From four to two.

6th Ward: From three to two. Precinct No. 3 must stay the same because it votes for a different district justice.

7th Ward: From four to one.

8th Ward: From three to one.

Ellwood City, now, nine, after consolidation, seven:

First Ward: From two precincts to one.

Third Ward: From two precincts to one.
