HOWLAND — Police are investigating possible ties between a Howland Township murder and two men wounded by gunshots, who appeared in separate Warren hospitals shortly after.

Police said that around 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, Cameron Murry, 21, was found dead in the doorway of his home at 2200 Sandpiper Trail in Howland. Murry, who was shot an unspecified number of times, was discovered by a construction worker at a home across the street.

Soon after Murray’s body was found, the Warren Police Department was notified that two men were receiving treatment for bullet wounds at Warren hospitals. One man with numerous shots to the abdomen arrived at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital at nearly the same time another man came to St. Joseph Health Center with a bullet wound to the buttocks.

Howland Police Chief Paul Monroe said neighbors did not report hearing a dispute or gunfire and that construction in the development may have muffled any sounds.

Monroe said the Warren police department along with the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation are assisting with the probe.

He said Murry has no previous record with the department and the property, as well as the neighborhood, has had few criminal problems.

The names of the two other men have not been released.
