Columbiana, behind Witmer’s 25 points, tops McDonald 55-51
COLUMBIANA — Katie Witmer tallied 25 points on 12 goals to lead the Columbiana girls basketball team, which handed McDonald its first loss of the season, 55-51, on Tuesday.
Ashley Shea chipped in with 13 points for the Clippers (5-2).
Joh’Vonnie Mosley had 22 points and 16 rebounds to lead McDonald (6-1). Lindsay Repp added 12 points and Callie Garland six points with five assists.
East 43, Canton CC 37
CANTON — East (4-2) held the Crusaders (1-7) to three points in the second period and four in the third to take a 29-15 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Reshayla Taylor scored 14 points for East, while Brianna Dawson pulled down 13 rebounds and Chelsea Bennett had five assists.
Lizzy Weber led Canton Central Catholic with 18 points.
Neshannock 55, Warren JFK 39
NESHANNOCK, Pa. — Paige Kleric scored 17 points and Marissa Nocera had 11 for JFK (3-5).
Erica Warvell scored 17 and Courtney Frengel had 16 for Neshannock, which led 31-19 at the half.
Lordstown 57, Jackson-Milton 27
NORTH JACKSON — Brianna Blodgett scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Lordstown, which took a 31-8 halftime lead.
Kelsey Wickline had 15 points and Lindsey Harrison added 14 with eight rebounds for Lordstown (6-3).
Alyssa Chine had eight points, six rebounds and four steals for the Bluejays (0-7).
