SHARON, Pa. — A man was arrested after a 20-year-old city woman told police he beat her for days.
Jerry Teague, 39, was arrested at his New Castle Avenue residence after police responded to a 911 hang-up call from the house at 8:42 p.m. Saturday.
He was still at the Mercer County Jail on Monday in lieu of a $5,000 bond, and a preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Jan. 2 at District Justice Henry Russo’s office.
Teague is charged with aggravated assault and false imprisonment.
The victim told police that Teague had beaten her “over the last few days.”
He beat her and choked her until she passed out, she told police.
The victim also said Teague hit her in the head with a frying pan and a glass globe, and beat her with a milk crate.
He cut off her hair, she said.
The woman told police that she wasn’t allowed to leave the house or make any telephone calls.
Police Chief Michael Menster said the victim had severely bruised eyes, two large cuts on her scalp, puncture marks on her shoulder, whip marks on her back and a large bruise on her leg. She was treated at Sharon Regional Hospital.
