One killed in fatal Salem house fire

SALEM — One person is dead after a fire at 271 Ohio Ave. early today, said fire Lt. Rod Hughes. The victim’s identity is being temporarily withheld. Hughes said the call came in at 3:36 a.m. for fire at the two-story house. The cause that destroyed the structure is under investigation. Hughes said an investigator with the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office is on scene.
