House fire kills Salem man

SALEM — A man died in fire early today, said fire Lt. Rod Hughes.

Raymond Lee Hilliard, 54, died in the blaze at his home, 271 Ohio Ave. Hughes said the call came in at 3:36 a.m. for the blaze at the two-story house. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Hughes said an investigator with the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office was on scene today.
