YMCA offers activities during school break

The Youngstown YMCA Central Branch in downtown and the Davis Family YMCA branch in Boardman are offering an Off School Program during the Christmas break.

Parents of children ages 6 through 13 can drop their kids off at either location for full days of activities, including crafts, sports, gym games, swimming and special field trips, all supervised by the Y’s staff.

The Off School Program is open to members and nonmembers. Regular hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $25 a day per child for members and $30 a day per child for nonmembers. Parents can extend program hours to 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for an additional $5 per day per child.

The Off School Program is available the following days during the holiday season: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Dec. 29, Dec. 30, and Jan. 2.

Schedule of special events is:

UMonday: Lunch with Santa (Central Branch only); families are welcome to participate for a nominal charge.

UDec. 29: Trip to Movies 8 for a film.

UDec. 30: Carnegie Science Center field trip/OmniMax movie; fee $25.

UJan. 2: Ice Zone field trip.
