Health care workshop set for mid-January

WARREN – A workshop on health care careers will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 13 at the YWCA at 375 N. Park Ave.

Presented by Northeast Ohio HealthForce, the workshop will offer information on nursing, information technology, laboratory and radiology technology, rehabilitative therapy, pharmacy technology and other career paths.

Participants will be able to talk to health care employers and educators. Financial aid information also will be available.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., and there is no charge for this workshop. You can pre- register by calling Pat at (330) 675-7712.

Northeast Ohio HealthForce is a cooperative of area health care providers, educators and work force development experts.

Cboss: 19 customers have selected ArchITech

BOARDMAN – Cboss said 19 customers have selected its ArchITech content management system that is designed to provide greater control and management of their Web site content. Cboss announced general commercial availability of ArchITech in August.

A content management system is a Web application designed to make it easy for nontechnical users to add to, edit and manage a Web site.

Among the new customers are the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown, Eastgate Regional Council of Governments, Mahoning County, Mahoning Valley Sanitary District, Mill Creek MetroParks, Angelilli Builders and Fire Foe Corp.

Jan’s Finds & Designs changes its location

LIBERTY — Jan’s Finds & Designs has moved from Girard to 212 Church Hill-Hubbard Road. It is a resale shop for home furnishings, including furniture, lamps, framed art, decorative accessories, linens and jewelry that were bought at local estate sales and auctions.

The owners are Jan Christopher, who is a former craft center director at Youngstown State University, art teacher and interior designer with Ethan Allen in Boardman. Pat Rex is a kindergarten teacher who also is a collector and jewelry designer.

The phone number is (330) 770-8903. The store is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., although closing time is 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Conroy’s Xpress opens a store in Liberty

LIBERTY — Conroy’s Xpress, a locally owned convenience store chain, has opened a location at 4446 Logan Way.

The company was bought by local resident Dan Qutail, who later was joined by Hadi A. Hadi. The Youngstown State University graduates have expanded the chain so that it now has eight locations in Mahoning and Trumbull counties. They plan to open four more stores next year.

Dunkin’ Donuts plans restaurant near I-80

AUSTINTOWN — A Dunkin’ Donuts is to open next year at 1123 N. Canfield-Niles Road, just north of the Interstate 80 interchange, Edward J. Lewis Inc. said.

The real estate was purchased by Braba Properties, and Jim and Kelly Braga will operate the restaurant, the real estate firm said.
