Westminster 92, Thomas More 80

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — Westminster picked up its first win of the season in a Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) contest. Junior forward Ryne Murray led the Titans (1-9, 1-1) with 20 points on 7-of-16 shooting while also leading Westminster with seven rebounds and four steals. Other notable scorers for Westminster included senior guard David Richards (New Castle) with 16 points and senior guard Bobby Glass (New Castle) bucketing 13 points. Westminster will play at the Marietta Shrine Tournament Dec. 29-30, starting with a meeting with the host Pioneers on Dec. 29 at 8 p.m.

WOMEN Thomas More 81, Westminster 57

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — Freshman forward Emily Dolsak (McDonald) scored in double figures for a second straight game during Westminster’s 81-57 loss to Thomas More. Dolsak finished with a career-high 16 points in Presidents’ Athletic Conference action. The Saints (8-0, 3-0), ranked No. 4 in the nation according to the USA Today/ESPN Division III Coaches’ Poll, registered their ninth-straight win over Westminster. The Titans fall to 2-6 on the season and 0-2 in the PAC. Dolsak shot 6-10 from the floor and grabbed five rebounds. Emily’s older sister, sophomore Amy Dolsak (McDonald), led the Titans with six rebounds to go with five points. Sophomore point guard Kaitlin McCarthy (Lowellville) scored 13 points on 5-10 shooting. Westminster is off until it hosts Wooster on Dec. 29 at 6 p.m.

Mount Union 60, Otterbein 55

WESTERVILLE — Mount Union (6-2, 3-1 Ohio Athletic Conference) bounced back from its first league loss. Freshman Amanda Rose and sophomore Katie Crider each scored 10 points to lead a balanced attack. Katy Miller scored a game-high 17 points to lead Otterbein. Mount Union will return to the court on Dec. 30 at 7 p.m. at Hiram College.

Fayetteville 63, California University of Pennsylvania 61

NASSAU, Bahamas — With the game tied in the final minute, the Broncos hit the game-winning shot with two second remaining in the championship game of the Bahamas Sunshine Shootout. Senior guard Lindsay Johnson (Springfield) tied her season high with 21 points after making 6-of-16 attempts from the floor, including four 3-pointers. The 5-11 guard also collected six rebounds, four assists and two steals while playing all 40 minutes for California (6-2). Sophomore forward Kayla Smith finished with 12 points and seven rebounds before fouling out. Johnson and Smith were named to the all-tournament team. During the two-day tournament, Johnson led the Vulcans with 31 points (15.5 points per game) and Smith collected a team-high 16 rebounds (eight rebounds per game).
