Christopher Brocious installed by Argus Lodge
Brocious
CANFIELD — Argus Lodge 545, Free and Accepted Masons, 5050 Shields Road, has installed Christopher J. Brocious of Canfield as master of the lodge for the coming year.
He was elected worshipful master Nov. 14, and was installed in the oriental chair on Dec. 12.
The title of “master” instead of “president” reflects the Masonic tradition of using ceremonies and titles from the middle ages, when stonemasons were building the great cathedrals of Europe and the mason in charge was referred to as a “master of the work.”
Brocious joined Argus Lodge in 1995 and has served as an officer since 2005. A 32nd Degree member of the Valley of Youngstown, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, he is also a member of the York Rite bodies Youngstown Chapter 93, Royal Arch Masons; Buechner Council 197, Royal and Select Masons; and is a knight templar of St. John’s Commandery 20. He is an associate member of the Ohio Lodge of Research, a fellow of the Grand College of Rites of the USA, and an honorary member of Zenobia Shrine AAONMS Toledo.
