Basement fire damages Austintown home

AUSTINTOWN — An electrical problem caused a fire in the basement of a home at 205 Forest Hill Drive late Friday.

The fire, reported at 11:08 p.m., caused an estimated $8,000 damage to the structure and $20,000 to its contents. Firefighters were on the scene until 1:10 a.m. Saturday. The occupants were home when the blaze began, but escaped without injury, firefighters said.
