“Our First Christmas” (9 p.m., Hallmark Channel): “Our First Christmas,” starring Dixie Carter, is a light drama about how a newly blended family finds a way to please everyone’s desires at Christmas. Both sides of the new family bring conflicting traditions to the holiday. The movie co-stars Julie Warner, Steven Eckholdt and John Ratzenberger.

Carter plays Evie, a mother whose son has died. His widow has remarried and moved to another state with Evie’s grandchildren.

With the memories of her late son still lingering, Evie is trying to figure out where she belongs in the family picture now. As with so many of Carter’s characters — such as Julia Sugarbaker on “Designing Women” — Evie is no fainting flower. She’s pragmatic.

“I don’t want to think of any character I play as someone I would feel sorry for,” Carter says. “That’s not the way to go about it.”

However, Carter contends, “The woman is kind of up a creek without a paddle. She is very much alone here.”

“WWE Tribute To The Troops” (9 p.m., NBC): Who couldn’t use a few good body slams around the holidays? In “WWE Tribute to the Troops,” a band of pro wrestlers and divas treks to Iraq to entertain our armed forces and provide some rowdy fun.

“Interviews With President and Mrs. Bush” (9 p.m., C-SPAN): After interviews with presidential historians including Lonnie Bunch, Doris Kearns Goodwin and Richard Norton Smith, encores of C-SPAN interviews with President George W. Bush and Mrs. Bush are featured.
