Warren robbery attempt fails

WARREN — Two men entered the Payless Shoe store at 4488 Youngstown Road S.E. about 7:30 p.m. Thursday and handed a note to a clerk demanding money.

The clerk didn’t give up any money, and the men eventually walked out without anything.

The note read: “Calmly give me the money and nobody will get hurt. Don’t be stupid,” Warren police said. But the clerk “stood there and just looked at the note. The suspect did not say anything and walked out. Soon after, the second male left,” police said. Police arrived but did not locate the suspects.
