• YOUNGSTOWN — Glen Adam Cox and his bride, the former Gina Lynn Mavrikis, honeymooned on the Hawaiian islands of Oahu and Maui after their wedding on Sept. 13 at St. Patrick Church.

The daughter of Janet and George Mavrikis of Boardman and the son of Jan and Glen Cox of Dayton exchanged vows during a 2 p.m. ceremony solemnized by the Rev. Edward Noga. A reception followed at DiVieste’s Banquet Hall in Warren.

The bride’s A-line gown featured a basque waist, spaghetti straps and a chapel train, and was embellished with Swarovski crystals.

Carrie Mavrikis, the bride’s sister and honor attendant, wore a burnt-orange gown, as did the bridesmaids, Kim Koterba, a sister of the groom; Melissa Vescera, the bride’s cousin; and Maurie Testa. Flower girl was the groom’s niece, Elizabeth Koterba.

Serving as best man was Doug Kreitzer, and groomsmen were Dan Koterba, the groom’s brother-in-law; Nick Ferralli; and David Alber. Ring bearer was the groom’s nephew, Daniel Koterba.

The bride graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in biology and is pursuing a doctorate in immunology in the department of molecular virology, immunology and medical genetics at Ohio State University.

A graduate of YSU with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and a master’s in chemistry, the groom is pursuing a doctorate in organic chemistry at OSU.
