Angels provide dinners

YOUNGSTOWN — Angels W/Extra Blessings and Angels That Give Love, an outreach ministry, are inviting the homeless and needy and senior citizens to a Prayer Christmas Dinner to be served from 3 to 6:30 p.m. today at 1555 Belmont Ave., adjacent to Goldie Flower Shop. Those attending will reeceive a small gift.

Travel plans for 2009 are formulated

WARREN — The Trumbull County Travelers outlined travel plans for 2009 during a recent meeting, and voted to invite anyone, 18 years of age or older, to join them on all-day trips, overnight excursions and vacations.

Scheduled was a David Wendt tour to Fiesta San Antonio April 22-27. A slide-show presentation on the tour will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 20 at Panera Bread on Elm Road; to reserve a seat for the show or information, call (330) 856-5398.

Also planned is a July 1-6 Anderson Motor Coach trip to historic Boston, to be escorted by Peggy Boyd.

Also planned are trips to the Carousel Dinner Theater in Akron for “Doo Whop,” “My Fair Lady,” “The Full Monty,” “High School Musical,” “The Producers” and “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

Crisis Shelter auction scheduled for Feb. 28

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — The Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County has scheduled its 21st annual auction for Feb. 28 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, 110 E. Lincoln Ave., where more than 500 donated items will be available for bidding.

Donations are still being accepted at 1218 W. State St., and are all tax deductible.

The shelter offers comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and other serious crimes, as well as prevention education. The agency also provides a secure, dignified refuge where healing can begin and hope restored.
