Free firewood available Saturday at Mill Creek Park

YOUNGSTOWN — Mill Creek Park’s wood storage lot on West Golf Drive, just south of Stitt Pavilion, will be open Saturday for those who want to load firewood.

There is no fee for the firewood. Split wood is available, however, individuals must load their own wood. The lot will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Remember that no firewood can be removed from Mahoning County due to the quarantine for Emerald Ash Borer. Moving firewood illegally is punishable by fines of up to $4,000.

Only 15 vehicles will be allowed in the storage lot at any one time. Trucks larger than pickup size are not allowed. Trailers attached to trucks are not allowed. Automobiles with trailers under eight feet are permissible.
