MERCER — The Kennedy High basketball team’ limited Mercer to seven points in the first quarter, three in the second and four in the fourth in cruising. Kyle Randall scored a game-high 29 points for Kennedy Catholic (4-1). Jake Yatsko and Jake Penn added eight points apiece. Lucas Clarke paced the Mustangs with nine points. Justin Glass finished with seven.

Southington 73, Lordstown 68

LORDSTOWN — The Wildcats (2-1, 2-1) connected on 22 of 27 free throws to prevail in the Northeaster Athletic Conference game. The Red Devils (2-2, 2-2) made 9 of 14 foul shots. Brad Sherwood paced the Wildcats with 18 points. Brad Bilanyi chipped in with17, while Brandon Ellis and Alex Tietz finished with 11 apiece. Steve Cribley led the Red Devils (1-4) with 25 points. Billy Wright added 20.
