HUBBARD

Dec. 11

Thefts: Two men left a North Main Street caf and saw that their cars had been broken into and items had been stolen.

Dec. 12

Stolen property: Officers arrested a male juvenile after the manager of a golf course off Liberty Street reported seeing golf carts that had been stolen near a set of railroad tracks off Bell Wick Road. Police said they found the carts in a wooded area close by.

Attempted breaking and entering: An employee with Pine Lakes Golf Course, 6233 W. Liberty St., reported that someone was trying to break in.

Dec. 13

Theft: Youngstown police handed a woman, no information given, to Hubbard authorities. She was wanted on a warrant charging her.

Dec. 15

Criminal damaging: A Wildfern Drive man awoke to discover a broken window at his residence.

Criminal damaging: A man reported that someone was breaking windows at a building in the 400 block of Myron Street.

Breaking and entering: A worker for a doctor’s office in the 200 block of North Main Street discovered a break-in.

LIBERTY

Dec. 12

Arrest: Youngstown authorities transferred custody of a Girard man, 44, to Liberty police. He was wanted by the township on a charge of failing to appear in court to face traffic and criminal charges.

Felonious assault: A Tibbetts-Wick Road male reported that a Warren man, 20, struck the accuser’s vehicle, which resulted in an altercation and the Warren man being stabbed in the back. He suffered a deep laceration.

Theft/criminal damaging: A worker for Quality Heating & Air Conditioning, 1785 Tibbetts-Wick Road, told police two people backed a vehicle next to a trash bin and loaded wooden pallets. When confronted, the driver sped away, causing gravel to strike and damage the paint of a nearby car.

Theft: A student at Liberty High School, 1 Leopard Way, told officers someone broke into her car and took a detachable CD player.

Burglary: A man returned to his residence in the 4200 block of Sampson Road and found slight damage to a rear door. Stolen were $200 worth of change, two wristwatches, a wooden jewelry box and a ring.

Theft: A charge was pending against a 19-year-old Youngstown man after a worker for a Belmont Avenue gas station discovered suspicious transactions that had been voided. The co-worker admitted having taken about $450 over the past month, police said.

Dec. 13

Arrests: A Youngstown man, 19, and a 34-year-old man, no information given, were taken into custody near state Route 11 after police had responded to a disturbance at a Tibbetts-Wick Road home. One man faced charges of assault, endangering children, interfering with custody of a child and driving under the influence. The other was charged with vandalism, assault and possession of dangerous drugs. Another man was punched during an argument about visitation of an infant, and the child was taken without consent, the report said.

Breaking and entering: A Colonial Drive woman found out someone had broken into her garage before removing Christmas gifts, a hydraulic floor jack and an air compressor. The loss came to $690.

Theft: A man pumped $42 worth of gasoline and left a BP station, 2703 Belmont Ave., without paying.

Dec. 14

Fight: Officers responded to a fight at a Belmont Avenue restaurant and also had to contain a large crowd. Several gunshots were heard, they said.

Theft: Someone stole power utility tools from a trailer near Terra Bella Drive.

Arrest: A 21-year-old Youngstown woman was booked at the Mahoning County Jail on a warrant from the township charging her with a probation violation.

Dec. 15

Theft/damage: The manager of a Green Acres Drive apartment complex reported a fire extinguisher stolen, and that damage had been done to two coin-operated washing machines and dryers.

Arrest: A 31-year-old Girard man was picked up at his home on a warrant from the township charging him with a probation violation.

Theft: Someone stole 11 new windows from a home under construction in the 10 block of Terra Bella Drive. The theft was estimated at $2,300.

Theft: A woman shopping at a Belmont Avenue store reported the theft of seven credit cards, two debit cards and her driver’s license from her purse.

GIRARD

Dec. 14

Criminal damaging: A St. Clair Avenue man noticed someone had sprayed a blue substance on one of his Christmas decorations and damaged others. An 11-year-old Girard boy admitted having caused the damage, the report showed.

Assault: A Girard woman reported that another woman, 57, cut the accuser with a pair of scissors during an argument about the sale of a refrigerator.

Possible theft: Someone broke a seal off a trailer in the 1300 block of South State Street, though it was unknown if anything was missing.

Dec. 15

Criminal damaging: A man discovered that a vehicle belonging to his parents, of North St. Clair Avenue, had its windshield shattered, possibly with a baseball bat.
