Valentine Day dinner tickets on sale

CANFIELD — Tickets are available for the Valentine Day dinner and entertainment planned for Feb. 14 at the Ursuline Center on Shields Road.

Entertainment will feature selections from the upcoming student musical production at South Range High School.

Tickets for the event are $20 per person and can be purchased by calling (330) 799-4941.

Proceeds will benefit the Ursuline Center.

It’s a wrap at Greenbriar

BOARDMAN — Greenbriar Campus, 8064 South Ave., is attempting to take some of the stress out of the holidays by inviting the public to get “all wrapped up” from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Greenbriar.

Area residents who take a gift and a box can have the item wrapped with a festive holiday flare for free. Greenbriar will provide the wrapping paper and bows, and volunteers will wrap the gift.

The is event is planned as a means of thanking the public for continuing to support the facility throughout the year.

Christmas party set for AFSCME Retirees

BOARDMAN — AFSCME Retirees, Sub-Chapter 1118, 150 Four Mile Run Road, Youngstown, are invited to a Christmas Party at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Golden Corral in Boardman.

The cost is $5.99 plus tax, and each member and guest will be responsible for their own check.

Monthly meetings are held by the chapter at 12:30 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month at the AFSCME hall. Election of officers is scheduled for Jan. 21. Nominations can be made at the January meeting or by mail prior to that date.

Panera Bread supports Toys for Tots program

WARREN — Covelli Enterprises, the largest franchisee of Panera LLC, is presenting a check for $15,000 and a donation of new toys to the “Toys for Tots” program today.

The funds will be used to further the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s “Toys for Tots” mission of collecting new unwrapped toys to be distributed as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community.

A portion of the proceeds for the donation was collected through Panera Bread’s Operation “Dough-Nation” Program, which allows customers to make a donation at Panera Bread locations with proceeds to be given to a nonprofit organization in the community.

Masons confer degree

LISBON — Lisbon Chapter of Royal Arch Masons conducted its annual inspection in the most excellent master degree on Dec. 3.

Glenn Adams presided at the meeting as the degree was conferred on one member, Sean McCormick. Inspecting officer was Randy Davis.

The chapter also made a donation to RARA (Royal Arch hearing assistance), which helps those with hearing problems get the necessary medical treatment.

A social followed the proceedings in the dining room.

Operation Santa Paws is benefit for animals

POLAND — Shepherd of the Valley, 301 W. Western Reserve Road, is sponsoring Operation Santa Paws to provide happiness, joy and chew toys for less fortunate puppies or kittens.

Donated items will be accepted at the reception desk at Shepherd of the Valley until Sunday and will be delivered to Animal Charity and Angels for Animals on Dec. 22.

Among the items that will be appreciated are wet and dry dog, puppy, cat and kitten food; animal treats and toys; rabbit food; fruits (apples) and veggies such as carrots, broccoli, celery and greens; unsalted peanuts; bird seed; raw hides; bedding for animals; newspapers; litter; heating pads; trash bags and cleaning supplies; towels; paper towels; and plastic containers and totes with lids.
