Man critical after single-car crash

WEATHERSFIELD — A 74-year-old Mineral Ridge Man is in critical condition in St. Elizabeth Health Center following a single-car crash on Niles-Vienna Road at 8:35 p.m. Sunday.

The Warren post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said Robert Fairburn was traveling westbound between Stillwagon Road and U.S. Route 422 when he failed to negotiate a curve, over-corrected and hit a rock and a tree on the left side of the road.

He was extricated from the vehicle before being taken to the hospital. Fairburn was not wearing a seat belt.

The highway patrol is continuing to investigate the accident.
