Touvelle leads Spartans’ victory over Massillon


BOARDMAN — Monica Touvelle scored 12 points, including a goal with about 12 seconds remaining, to seal the Boardman High girls basketball team’s 41-38 victory Saturday over Massillon Perry.

Darryce Moore added 10 points and seven rebounds for Boardman (2-3, 1-0 Federal League) while Touvelle also had three assists.

The Spartans were helped by a 12-for-18 game from the foul line.

Elizabeth Marino scored 12 points to lead Perry (2-3, 0-1 FL).

Ursuline 68, Sharon 32

SHARON, Pa. — Courtney Powell scored 12 points and pulled down seven rebounds as Ursuline cruised past Sharon.

Aukrielle Irizarry added 12 points for the Irish (3-2).

Kaela Rapkins had 12 points to lead Sharon (2-1).

East 39, Brookfield 27

YOUNGSTOWN — Monet Oliver Scored 14 points to lead the Panthers (3-2) at the Chevrolet Centre. Briana Dawson pulled down 11 rebounds and scored seven points.

For the Warriors (2-3), Kodi Brenner scored 13 points and had two rebounds.

Lordstown 60, Heartland Christian 23

LORDSTOWN — Kelsey Wickline scored 21 points while Brianna Blodgett added 15 with 10 rebounds to lead Lordstown (5-0).

Lindsey Harrison chipped in with 13 points for the Red Devils.

Mya Justice had 12 points for Heartland Christian.

Lake Center Christian 45, Youngstown Christian 37

HARTSVILLE — Youngstown Christian scored just 17 points over the first three quarters and when they finally rallied in the fourth quarter Lake Center matched them bucket for bucket.

Kristi Cooper (1-4) led the Eagles with eight points, while Mary Miller led Lake Center with 16.

West Branch 64, Northwest 42

BELOIT — Michelle Sosnick scored 15 points and pulled down eight rebounds for the Warriors (3-1, 2-1 Northeastern Buckeye Conference).

Emilee Zets netted 2 points.

For Northwest (2-3, 1-3), Dakota Harkins scored 13 points.
