Pesta scores 23, but Boardman falls, 56-54
BOARDMAN — Ryan Pesta’s seven 3-pointers Saturday weren’t quite enough as the Boardman High basketball team fell to Ashtabula Lakeside, 56-54.
Pesta scored 23 points while Chase Hammond connected for 12 for the Spartans.
for Lakeside, Emilio Parks scored 19 and Anthony Jones had 16.
Crestview 64, Heartland Christian 52
COLUMBIANA — Jakob Leon scored 20 points and David Drinnon had 15 to spark the Rebels (2-1).
Nat Hall led Heartland Christian (0-3) with 12 points.
Justin Storm and Treg Lunger each scored 11.
Lordstown 60, Jackson-Milton 58
LORDSTOWN — Chris Polivka’s goal at the buzzer gave Lordstown the win.
Polivka finished with eight points and 11 rebounds.
Billy Wright had 18 points and Steve Cribley 17 with six assists to lead Lordstown (1-3).
Bobby Schnellbech netted 16 points, Jacob Carlisle 15 and Ben Carlisle 14 to pace Jackson-Milton (0-3).
Kennedy Catholic 41, Grove City 23
HERMITAGE — Kyle Randall looped 21 points to lead Kennedy Catholic (3-1), which limited Grove City to only nine points in the second half.
Aundra Jones had 10 rebounds and five points to aid Kennedy Catholic, while Philipo Kaikich had six points and five assists.
Jeff Hershberger managed eight points for Grove City.

Youngstown Christian 63, Lake Central 58
John Pecchia scored 21 points, including five 3-point goals, while Olonzo Johnson added 20 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks to lead Youngstown Christian in a game played Friday. Caleb Yanno added four steals and four points.
