Former NFL stars sign autographs
CANFIELD — Former Ohio State linebacker Tom Cousineau and former Browns standouts Hanford Dixon, Greg Pruitt and Tim Manoa will sign autographs from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 Monday at Inner Circle Pizza next to the Hampton Inn off Rt. 224.
Autographed photos are $5. For $15, fans can pose for a photo with the player and get it printed and signed on site. There is no signing charge for memorabilia brought to the event.
Curbstone speaker
BOARDMAN — Bill Castrovince, WYTV/Chanel 33 sports director, will be guest speaker at the Curbstone Coaches luncheon Monday at noon at the Blue Wolf Banquet Center.
Koulianos correction
CAMPBELL — Derrell Johnson-Koulianos of Campbell, a sophomore wide receiver for the Outback Bowl-bound University of Iowa football team from Campbell Memorial and Cardinal Mooney Highs, suffered his second ankle injury in his senior year at Mooney in the Cardinals’ 20-13 win over Bellaire in a 2005 state semifinal.
An article in Friday’s paper said that Koulianos incurred his second ankle injury in a state semifinal loss to Bellaire. Then Mooney, playing without the injured Koulianos in the state final, went on to lose to Coldwater, 33-7.

Perry, Hoch lead shootout field
NAPLES, Fla. (AP) — Kenny Perry had eight birdies and an eagle and he and partner Scott Hoch finished with a 12-under 60 in the better-ball format at the second round of the Merrill Lynch Shootout on Saturday.
They hold a four-shot lead over J.B. Holmes and Boo Weekley at the Tiburon Golf Club.
The two teams were tied until Perry and Hoch birdied No. 16, Perry made an 8-footer for eagle on No. 17, and 10-footer for birdie on No. 18. Perry hit a 5-iron from 220 yards on No. 17, and a gap wedge from 115 yards on No. 18.
U.S. Ryder Cup captain Paul Azinger and Rocco Mediate, the U.S. Open runner-up, tied the second-best round of the day with a 62, and are at 135.
Mattiace second in South Africa
MALELANE, South Africa (AP) — South Africa’s Thomas Aiken eagled the last hole for a course record 11-under 61 to lead American Len Mattiace by one stroke Saturday after the third round of the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
Aiken, trying to reclaim his European Tour card for next year, also had nine birdies at Leopard Creek to surpass Trevor Immelman’s record 63 in the 2003 Tour Championship.
He was at 18-under 198, one ahead of Mattiace, who had a second straight 68. Mattiace, a two-time PGA winner who is chasing his first victory on the European Tour, bogeyed the 17th but eagled the last hole.
Sweden’s Oskar Henningsson (69), England’s David Lynn (66) and Robert Rock (69) and South Africa’s Richard Sterne (68) were four shots behind the leader.
Americans win at Grand Prix
COPPER MOUNTAIN, Colo. (AP) — Americans Kelly Clark and Louie Vito won the halfpipe events in snowy conditions at the U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix on Saturday.
Clark and Vito are the defending champions in the Grand Prix series.
Soko Yamaoka of Japan was second in the women’s halfpipe and Hannah Teter of the U.S. finished third.
American Steve Fisher was second in the men’s halfpipe and Finland’s Antti Autti took third.
Copper Mountain was the first of three stops in the Grand Prix series this season. The next competition begins Jan. 28 at Boreal in Truckee, Calif.
Hasay gets second Foot Locker title
SAN DIEGO (AP) — Jordan Hasay overcame a huge deficit to win her second Foot Locker Cross Country Championships, beating a field that included three past champions.
The senior from Mission College Prep in Arroyo Grande, Calif., came from behind in the final 200 meters to pass Allie McLaughlin and defending champion Ashley Brasovan and win the 5-kilometer race in 17 minutes, 22 seconds. She also took the title as a freshman in 2005.
Solomon Haile ran away with the boys’ race, winning in 15:15, 7 seconds faster than Trevor Dunbar of Kodiak (Alaska) High.
