PITTSBURGH — Shayla Scott had 14 points and 14 rebounds, and Pittsburgh took control early in the second half. Kate Popovec (Canfield High) added 17 points and 10 rebounds while Taneisha Harrison scored 15 points for the Panthers (7-1). Sandrea Coleman had 12 points and Brittany Mingo nine for West Virginia State (5-3), which was 14-of-64 from the field.
No. 2 North Carolina 95, Coastal Carolina 44
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Italee Lucas scored 17 points and reserve Jessica Breland had 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead North Carolina. Rashanda McCants added 14 points for North Carolina (10-0) and Cetera DeGraffenreid had 13, as all but one of 13 Tar Heels on the roster scored. North Carolina got its 26th straight win in Chapel Hill and its 73rd straight at home against nonconference opponents. The Chanticleers fell to 0-12 against the Tar Heels. Devin Rivers scored eight points for Coastal Carolina (6-3). Amanda Stull, the Chanticleers’ leading scorer at 12.3 points per game coming into the contest, was held scoreless in the first half and finished with two points.

STANFORD, Calif. — Freshman Nnemkadi Ogwumike scored 19 points in her first career start and Stanford rolled following a two-week break for finals. Reigning Pac-10 Freshman of the Year Kayla Pedersen added 21 points and five assists, and Jeanette Pohlen had 14 points, seven rebounds and three steals for the Cardinal (7-1) in a tuneup before playing at No. 11 Duke on Tuesday. Marnique Arnold had 21 points and six rebounds, and Hayley Munro added 12 points and eight boards for Fresno State (6-3).
No. 8 Notre Dame 63, Valparaiso 55
VALPARAISO, Ind. — Melissa Lechlitner scored 12 of her 18 points in the second half and Ashley Barlow added 15, including a key 3-pointer, as Notre Dame sealed the win with a 13-4 run. Lindsay Schrader added 14 points and six rebounds for the Fighting Irish (8-1), who bounced back from an overtime loss to Michigan on Wednesday. Notre Dame improved to 22-0 against Valparaiso. Agnieszka Kulaga led the Crusaders (4-3) with 12 points and Lauren Kenney had 11 points and 15 rebounds.
