Canfield wrestlers finish fifth

PARMA — The Canfield High wrestling team, led by Braylin Bellino, Dylan Frost, Aron Brenner and Joel Amendolara, placed fifth out of 10 schools at the Strongsville Super Duals held Saturday at Holy Name High.

Bellino, a senior, went unbeaten through five matches at 103 pounds, while seniors Frost (119) and Brenner (160) both went 4-1 as the Cardinals posted a 3-2 record, including a 64-15 win over Holy Name in the fifth place match.

Canfield opened the met with a 48-30 win over Nordonia, before losing to Waynedale, 38-36, and Padua, 53-18. The Cardinals then bouncedback to beat Strongsville, 39-21, and Holy Name for fifth place.

Other Canfield wrestlers with winning records in the meet were Alex Benedict (112) and Robby Reed (125), Cody Hartman (189), Mark Douglass (215) and Robert Gleichart (285), all going 3-2.
