Canfield hockey team posts 7-6 victory


BOARDMAN — The Canfield High hockey team scored four goals in the second period during a 7-6 win over Garfield Heights Saturday at the Ice Zone.

The Cardinals were led by Ben Kline and Joe Geiser who scored two goals apiece. defenseman Mike Haurin dished out three assists to spearhead the Cardinals’ first victory all time over the Bulldogs. Canfield’s record against Garfield Heights is 1-6-1.

Other goals scorers for the Cards were Dan Johns, Max Siegle and Scott Sittig. Nick Carney and Tyler Buchenic also had assists along with Siegle and Sittig.

Roger Geiser stopped 35 out of 41 shots in net for the Cards (4-5, 1-1 Blue South, Greater Cleveland High SChool Hockey League.

The Bulldogs fall to 4-5, 2-2.

Today, Canfield takes to the road at Winterhurst to take on Bay Village in another divisional game.
