• GAMAGORI, Japan — Mr. and Mrs. Senga Yoshiki of Gamagori announce the engagement of their daughter, Senga Mina, to Zachary Liptak, son of Mrs. and Mrs. Ron Liptak of Boardman.

The couple met at Nanzan University in Nagoya, Japan, while Mr. Liptak was studying abroad at the University’s Center for Japanese Studies.

In March, Ms. Senga will graduate from Nanzan with a bachelor’s degree in French and plans to work for Hagiwara Electronics Co. in Nagoya. Mr. Liptak plans to graduate from the University of Notre Dame with bachelor’s degrees in advanced physics and Japanese, after which he hopes to attend graduate school for a doctorate in experimental elementary particle research.

No date has been set for the wedding.
