NEW CASTLE, Pa. — City police have a warrant for the arrest of a man who is charged with robbing his grandmother.

Anthony Audino, 22, of Lutton Street, is charged with robbery, police said.

Police investigated a purse snatching at the Lutton Street home at 9:53 p.m. Tuesday, a police report indicates.

The 79-year-old victim told police that as she was entering her home, somebody wearing a gray-hooded sweat shirt came from behind and snatched her purse. The purse contained $400 in cash and also credit cards. She was unhurt.

A witness told police that Audino was the robber.

Police are also investigating an attempted robbery at 3:26 p.m. Wednesday at the Family First Credit Union on Moravia Street.

A teller told police a man came in, pointed a handgun at her and demanded money, a report says.

The teller was on the phone and didn’t respond right away, so the man fled without getting any money, the report says.

He is described as around 6 feet tall. Security cameras weren’t active at the time.
