Bristol 72, Lordstown 64

BRISTOLVILLE — Sophomore Andrew Holko scored a career-high 35 points to lead the Panthers to their first win. John Evans finished with 12 points for Bristol (1-2, 1-2 Northeastern Athletic Conference). For the Red Devils (0-3, 0-2), Mike Shaffer scored 15 while Billy Wright had 11.

Warren JFK 52, Sharpsville 49

SHARPSVILLE — Warren JFK carried a 38-25 lead into the final quarter, then had to beat back a 24-14 LaBrae rally to escape with the three-point decision.

Mike Fredericka scored 13 points and Boo Timko 12, each with three 3-point goals, to lead JFK (2-1), while Steve Procopio tacked on 10 points.

Sharpsville (1-2) made a game of it in the last quarter where Chad Piccirilli tallied eight of his 15 points (three 3-point goals), while Josh Taylor added 12 points and John Wilson nine (three 3-point goals). Nick Brown chipped in with 14 points and eight rebounds for Sharpsville.

Carrollton 76, West Branch 60

BELOIT — Carrollton won the battle of the Warriors. A strong second quarter lifted Carrollton (2-1) over undefeated West Branch. Carrollton went on a 19-4 scoring run at the end of the quarter to take a six-point lead into halftime. Tyler Haugh was responsible for much of the scoring for Carrollton. His six 3-pointers proved to be too much for West Branch. Haugh finished with a game-high 24 points. West Branch struggled from the foul line, sinking only 11 of their 21 attempts. Tyler Rockwell led the team with 13 points, and teammates Chad Butcher and Evan Campbell were both in double-digits with 10 points each.
