Seventh area teacher earns national honor

WARREN — A seventh area high school teacher has been added to the Class of 2008 of National Board Certified Teachers.

Charmayne Polen, an English instructor at the Trumbull Career & Technical Center, wasn’t on the initial list reported earlier this week by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards which offers the certification.

Her name appeared on a revised list.

She joins three other TCTC teachers – Paula Baco, Dawn Haught, and Jessica Rishel – Caroline Hines of Niles and Amy Hammond and Julie James of Sharon in securing the highest credential awarded in the teaching profession.
