Convicted Columbiana County health commissioner resigns

LISBON — The Columbiana County Board of Health this morning accepted the resignation of Robert Moorehead.

Board officials said Moorehead had resigned effective at 4 p.m. Thursday. Nursing Director Barbara Knee was appointed the interim commissioner until the board meets next week to find a replacement for Moorehead.

Moorehead has pleaded guilty to one count of theft in office for putting personal purchases on a county credit card and is awaiting sentencing.
