Changes coming at Detroit’s daily papers
DETROIT (AP) — Changes are expected to be announced next week at the city’s two daily newspapers.
An executive told employees at the Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News that “various scenarios” have been explored to ensure two “strong newspaper voices” in the region.
The Free Press is owned by Gannett Co., and the News is owned by MediaNews. They have separate newsrooms, but the business sides of both papers work together under a joint-operating agreement. Daily circulation of The Free Press was 314,554, and for The News, 178,280.
