Trash and Treasure Sale to benefit children’s choir
AUSTINTOWN — A Way With Words Foundation is sponsoring a Trash and Treasure Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 4032 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, the first building east of North Wickliffe Circle.
Proceeds will benefit the ROCcK Children’s Choir and local cancer programs.
On Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Santa and Mrs. Claus will stop by to hear the ROCcK Children’s Choir sing Christmas carols.
Breakfast with Santa set in East Palestine
EAST PALESTINE — The East Palestine Firemen’s Association will sponsor the annual breakfast with Santa from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Clark Street Fire station.
The cost is $5 a breakfast; children 8 and younger eat for free.
Annual party planned as benefit for Rich Center
LIBERTY— WeatherTite Windows will host its third annual holiday party for the Rich Center for Autism from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at its showroom at 1596 Motor Inn Drive.
The event will honor the facility’s students, their families and the faculty.
Festivities will include gifts for the students and a luncheon of pizza, macaroni and cheese, chicken nuggets, carrots, celery and soft drinks. Entertainment will include music, a clown and Santa Claus.
Fundraisers scheduled for animal shelter
HOWLAND — Two fundraisers will benefit the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County.
Volunteers will wrap presents for a donation for each box every Tuesday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Dec. 23 at The Menagerie Thrift & Gift Shoppe, 8044 E. Market St.
Also, the Lordstown Little Lions & Leos, along with the Dog Depot, are sponsoring a pet photo with Santa from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Dog Depot, 8026 E. Market St., next to Great Harvest.

Annual Christmas sale
YOUNGSTOWN — The North Star Patchwork Training Center, located at the Friends House Chapel Church, 192 Haseltine Ave., is having its annual Christmas sale from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 17, 18 and 19.
Items for sale will include crocheted afghans, knitted pot holders, crocheted scarves, knitted pillow sets, homemade quilts, Christmas wreaths, flower arrangements and other Christmas decor. There will also be toys and a variety of baked goods. All items will be $5 or less.
Festival of trees to raise funds at HMHP hospitals
YOUNGSTOWN — Humility of Mary Health Partners is having its annual Festival of Trees through Friday.
Decorated by hospital staff, 87 trees will be available for raffle at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, St. Joseph Health Center in Warren and St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Proceeds from St. Elizabeth’s and St. Joseph’s events benefit funds that help employees when they are facing a crisis. Proceeds from the Boardman event will go to a Mission Closet for patients and families who may need clothing or other supplies while at the hospital.
The hours for all three hospitals follow: today, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, 7 a.m. to noon, which is when winning tickets will be pulled. Tickets cost $1 each or six for $5. Tree pickup is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday.
‘Hats Off to Seniors’ will take place Saturday
YOUNGSTOWN — The National Council of Negro Women is hosting its third annual “Hats Off to Seniors” luncheon at noon Saturday at McGuffey Centre, 1649 Jacobs Road.
The event is for seniors 70 or older. Entertainment includes a medley of Christmas songs performed by D.C. Colvin. Names of seniors, both ladies and gentlemen, who are wearing hats will be entered into a raffle for prizes. President Karen Jackson Cook will present the prizes.

Holiday Showcase set at Fred Astaire studio
BOARDMAN — The Fred Astaire Dance Studio is hosting a Holiday Showcase on Saturday.
The event will feature 20 students and their teachers. All of the ticket proceeds will go to the Variety Club, a national charity to help disabled children with mobility.
The doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and the show will begin at 6 p.m. Seats are limited and cost $10 per person. Tickets are available at the studio front desk, or call (330) 788-3200 to order by phone.
Victorian holiday awaits on Millionaires’ Row
WARREN — A stroll along Millionaires’ Row on historic Mahoning Avenue in downtown Warren from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday will allow visitors to experience the sights and sounds of a Victorian holiday.
The five featured sites include: the Perkins Mansion, home of Warren City Hall; the first floor of the John Stark Edwards House; the Upton House; The Kinsman House; and the Land Title Office, home of the Trumbull County Tourism Bureau.
Tickets for the walking tour are $5 per person and can be purchased the day of the event at any of the sites included on the tour. Tickets can also be purchased in advance at the Trumbull County Tourism Bureau, 321 Mahoning Ave. N.W.
The admission fee allows access to all sites, which can be visited in any order. Children ages 12 and under are free.
