Trumbull housing authority to construct senior citizen apartment building
WARREN — A Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority will begin construction on a 40-unit senior citizen apartment building in the 400 block of Washington Avenue in Girard in January.
The county commissioners gave approval today to issue bonds that would allow TMHA to borrow about $2 million at a low interest rate to be used in the project, to be known as Girard Manor.
In all, the new building will cost around $6.5 million and will provide single-bedroom apartments at a subsidized rate in a three-story building, said Donald W. Emerson Jr., TMHA executive director.
