Informational meeting set on regional volunteer search group

YOUNGSTOWN — An informational meeting for those interested in training for the U.S. SARR Corps, a regional search, rescue and recovery organization, will be at 8 p.m. Dec. 17 at the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Department, 110 Fifth Ave. Enter through a door from the rear parking lot. U.S. SARR has served Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia for 40 years and has been designated as the primary search response unit of the sheriff’s department’s Seniors Unit. The unit has been accepted as a participant in CART, the Child Abduction Response Team, for Mahoning and Trumbull counties.
