Youngstown police youth basketball league registrations under way

YOUNGSTOWN — Registrations for the Youngstown Police Athletic League basketball league for boys 11 to 13 and 14 to 17 must be received by Dec. 15. Beginners and teams are welcome. YPAL has teamed with the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center for the basketball league. The season runs from Jan. 10 through March 14. Games will be played from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays at South Fieldhouse on Market Street. Applications are at the YPAL office, 1539 Mahoning Ave. A copy of the child’s birth certificate is required. A $20 fee applies but is waived if you sign up as a volunteer or coach. The fee is returned at the end of the season.
