• BOARDMAN — Kyle Vernon and his bride, the former Laura Strahin, honeymooned at Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic after their marriage at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 25 at St. James Meeting House in Boardman Township Park.

The Rev. Ralph Edwards presided, and a reception followed at Avion on the Water in Canfield.

The bride, a daughter of Henry and Sarah Strahin of New Springfield, and the groom, a son of Rob and Deanna Vernon of Diamond, live in New Springfield.

Crystals and embroidery embellished the bride’s strapless white gown, and the skirt flowed into a chapel train.

Wearing chocolate-brown gowns were Mandy Strahin and Jenn Geiser, the bride’s sisters and honor attendants, and the bridesmaids, Liz Manning and the groom’s sister, Jenny Vernon. Flower girls were the bride’s cousins, Zoe and Sabrina Frank and Paige Smith.

Best man in absentia was R.J. Vernon, a brother of the groom who is serving with the U.S. Air Force in Iraq, and the groom’s other attendants were Asia Vernon, the groom’s sister-in-law; Ben Geiser, the bride’s brother-in-law; Matt Baird; and Carey Yeager.

The bride, a stylist with Entheos Salon & Day Spa, graduated from Casal Aveda Institute in Austintown. The groom attended Ohio State Agriculture Technical Institute and is a wiring technician with Control System Manufacturing in New Middletown.
