Columbiana Co. health commissioner to be sentenced in February
LISBON — Robert Morehead, Columbiana County health commissioner, today pleaded guilty to one count of theft in office.
He faces up to one year in prison. Sentencing was set for 10:30 a.m. Feb. 13 in common pleas court.
Morehead actually entered what is known as an Alford plea today. In entering such a plea, Morehead denied any wrongdoing, but he acknowledged there is sufficient evidence the prosecution could show that there was wrongdoing and which could show a defendant is guilty. Visiting Judge John R. Milligan Jr. accepted the plea and found Morehead guilty.
