KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Oklahoma became the first team in 89 years to score at least 60 points in five straight games, routing Missouri in the Big 12 championship game. By halftime Oklahoma (12-1) quarterback Sam Bradford put up with 240 yards and two touchdown passes and the Sooners led 38-7. Along the way they zoomed past Hawaii’s NCAA record 656 points set in 2006. Oklahoma became the first team to score at least 60 in five straight games since Tulsa in 1919.
No. 13 Cincinnati 29, Hawaii 24
HONOLULU — Mardy Gilyard caught a 69-yard touchdown pass with 4:42 to play and Cincinnati scored 19 straight points in the final quarter. Gilyard finished with seven catches for 136 yards for the Bearcats (11-2), who won their sixth straight game and a school-record 11th game of the season.
West Virginia 13, South Florida 7
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Pat White threw a touchdown pass in his final home game and West Virginia mustered enough offense on a snowy field to beat South Florida. Preseason Big East favorite West Virginia (8-4, 5-2) earned a share of second place with Pittsburgh and Rutgers. The Mountaineers accepted a bid to the Dec. 27 Meineke Bowl in Charlotte, N.C. Despite losing four of its final five games, South Florida (7-5, 2-5) accepted an invitation to the inaugural St. Petersburg Bowl on Dec. 20.
Arizona 31, Arizona State 10
TUCSON, Ariz. — Mike Thomas broke the game open with a 52-yard punt return for a score, and Arizona clinched its first winning season since 1998. Nic Grigsby rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown and Willie Tuitama threw for 284 yards and two scores for Arizona (7-5, 5-4 Pac-10), which accepted a bid to the Las Vegas Bowl Sunday The Wildcats ended a three-game losing streak to the Sun Devils (5-7, 4-5), whose string of four straight bowl appearances ended. Down 10-7 at halftime, the Wildcats blew out the Sun Devils with 21 third-quarter points.
