Creatures greet Santa at Animal Rescue fundraiser

Area residents brought their pets to Santa at the Weston Center’s Complete Petmart in Austintown on Saturday. The event was a fundraiser for Austintown’s Second Chance Animal Rescue. Jean Vantell and her husband, Bill, of Austintown, top photo, brought their 3-year-old dogs, Braylon, a black-and-white cocker spaniel, and Brian, a beige cocker spaniel, to Santa’s lap. Above left, Dylan Fitzpatrick, 7, and his sister, Linsey Golldberg, 15, both of Austintown, brought their 5-month-old Bassett hound, Lulu, to the event. Above right, Levi, a 6-month-old Jack Russell terrier owned by Deanna Oles of Austintown, greets Santa.
