“The Librarian: Curse of the Judas Chalice” (8 p.m., TNT): Just call him Indiana Jones Lite. Noah Wyle returns in “The Librarian: Curse of the Judas Chalice.” This time his mild-mannered, but adventurous, bookworm is out to thwart some bad guys who want to steal a very powerful holy relic.
“Front of the Class” (9 p.m., CBS): A man with Tourette’s syndrome overcomes impossible odds to get an education.
“House of Saddam” (9 p.m., HBO): This story begins in 1979, when Saddam Hussein seized control of Iraq in a bloody coup. The familiar, long-awaited conclusion: a disgraced, ruined despot is pulled from the spider hole where he had been hiding.
The intervening quarter-century is dramatized in “House of Saddam,” a four-hour HBO miniseries premiering Sunday at 9 p.m., with the second half airing Dec. 14. Filmed entirely on location in Tunisia, the production draws from interviews with those who knew, worked with and observed Saddam, including members of his inner circle. An international cast is led by Israeli actor Igal Naor (“Rendition,” “Munich”) as Saddam, who is seen in Baghdad in March 2003 watching President George W. Bush appeal to Iraqis during a TV broadcast, asserting, “The tyrant will soon be gone.” “House of Saddam” explores how the tyrant stayed in power so long.
“Leverage” (10 p.m., TNT): Timothy Hutton plays a former insurance sleuth in the new drama series “Leverage.” It’s about a band of high-tech Robin Hoods who scam greedy and corrupt scumbags that have preyed on unsuspecting citizens.
