NHL ROUNDUP \ Friday’s games
Stars 2, Avalanche 1, SO
DALLAS — Mike Modano scored in the fourth round of a shootout, and Marty Turco stopped Ryan Smyth’s shot to give Dallas the victory. Colorado’s Wojtek Wolski converted in the first round, but Turco was perfect the next three rounds to end the Avalanche’s unbeaten streak in shootouts at eight — the third-longest streak in the league since the tiebreaker system was implemented in 2005.
Flames 4, Blues 3, OT
ST. LOUIS — Michael Cammalleri scored in overtime as Calgary overcame a pair of two-goal deficits. Calgary also got goals from Rene Bourque, Iginla and David Moss. Dion Phaneuf added four assists and Curtis Glencross picked up two assists. David Backes, Patrik Berglund and Brad Boyes scored for the Blues, who led 2-0 and 3-1 in the game.
Canucks 2, Wild 1
ST. PAUL, Minn. — Kevin Bieksa’s power-play goal and an early scuffle sparked Vancouver in the first period, and goalie Cory Schneider picked up his first career victory for the Canucks. Jason Jaffray scored in the second period to give the Canucks the lead back after Mikko Koivu slammed a long rebound past Schneider just 27 seconds after the first intermission.
