Man pleads guilty to one of 3 murder
UPPER SANDUSKY, Ohio (AP) — A northern Ohio man charged in the slayings of three women pleaded guilty to murder Friday in one of the deaths.
Forty-year-old Terry Shepherd of Patterson told a Wyandot County judge that he strangled 78-year-old Claradell Keller of Wharton after she surprised him while he was robbing her house in September. Shepherd said he left the woman’s body on a bed and set fire to the house.
Judge Kathleen Aubry did not set a date for sentencing.
Shepherd also is charged in the deaths of two Kenton women whose remains were found in the ruins of an abandoned farmhouse that was destroyed by fire. Shepherd is to be in Hardin County Common Pleas Court on those charges next Friday.
